Acro dance style has founded in the United States and Canada in the early 1990s. Although this style performed in vaudeville prior to 1990s, it became popular in the early 1990s.Today from we ara going to tell you about some dance technique.

Acro is a awesome dancing style, which combination of classical dance techniques and precision acrobatic elements. But it has unique characters, Unique choreography and using acrobatic in context also differ from other styles. No matter it is armature or professionals, Acro dancing styles are so popular between every dancer. Acro is altering from acrobatic artistic and rhythmic gymnastic, which are use dance elements in gymnastic context according to the gymnastics organization like FIG. Even Acro popular as Acrobatic dance or gymnastic dance, dancers and professional dancers simply called Acro. This style is challenging dancing style because dancers have to train in both dance and acrobatic skills as well. 


Acro dancer should have to maintain their physical condition in excellent because Acro dance consists of a lot of physical activities, flexibility, balance, strength and coordination as well. In Acro dance, there are smooth and graceful transition movements between dance and acrobatics movements. As an example floor exercise on Gymnastic is not recognized as Acro because it has no dance movements and lack of smooth transitions between movements. Acro dance Techniques are found in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and modern dance style as well. But the speciality is Acro styles are not restricted to these styles, and complete absence of these styles will cause to something other than Acro dance.

Acro dance theory

The dancer should have better skills of acrobatic movements and balanced to perform dance well. There are different tricks use in Acro but mainly Solo tricks and Double tricks. Solo tricks can present solo dancer and Double tricks are perform two dancers. Front aerial, Hand walking, Valdez, are examples for solo tricks while Lawnmower, Pitch tuck, Swizzle and Shoulder stand is list under Double tricks. First of all , students will get basic skills like cartwheels, Forward rolls and beginner balance techniques, and Intermediate students will go with advanced techniques of tumbling, balances and especially partner balance and stunt as well.
